Compress image to 100 KB
One hundred kilobytes is the generous end of the form world: job portals, admissions systems and professional profiles often stop there. This compressor is preset to 100 KB and will usually hit it on quality alone, keeping your photo at full size.

Typical 100 KB territory
- Job application portals. Profile photos and, on some systems, scanned certificates are capped around 100 KB.
- University admissions. Photo and document-image uploads commonly sit in the 100–200 KB band.
- Professional profiles. A crisp headshot at 100 KB looks noticeably better than one squeezed to 50 KB.
- Marketplace seller photos. Some listing systems throttle uploads to about 100 KB per image.
Why not always use 100 KB?
If a portal's limit is 50 KB, a 100 KB file is simply rejected — the "maximum" is a wall, not a suggestion. Always compress to the exact number the form states; when a form gives a range such as "20–50 KB", aim for the middle of the range so minor re-encoding by the portal cannot push you over. Where no limit exists at all, the honest answer is to use the smallest file that still looks right — for a web profile picture that is often below 100 KB anyway.
Batch-compressing a document set
Admissions and job applications come in sets: photo, signature, two certificates, an ID scan. Add them all here at once, compress to the portal's stated limit, and download the ZIP. Keep each file's target honest — signatures usually need the 20 KB page, photos the 50 KB page — and check the form guide if the instructions mix limits.
